I'm finally taking a "real" vacation, and heading off to Las Vegas for a week. So anybody registering on the site will have to be patient until I return.
April will be spring cleaning month for my bonsai, so I promise to write more and add some new pictures. For those of you who have registered... it would be awfully nice for ...

Well, the holiday season is definitely upon us.... I spent several hours today writing out my Christmas cards! There's just a little over two weeks left before Santa arrives, so the cards need to get out this weekend.
I decided to decorate the site, too! If you'll notice on the Home page, I decorated a bonsai for your viewing pleasure. I ...

While this is of absolutely NO interest to those of you interested only in bonsai, it may be of passing interest to others!
The software used for this site is Community Server, and one of their gurus by the name of Dave Burke is responsible for writing the Daily News about Community Server. Well, it must have been a slow news day or something, ...

Well, I'm almost done with the upgrade to Community Server 2.1. It wasn't nearly as difficult this time around, but there are still some items I'm not thrilled about. But it DOES provide some great features for this site! There's a few more details to be worked on, but I've run out of time for this week.
I'm thinking ...

As you can tell, I've returned from my trip to Epcot to see the 2006 Flower & Garden Show. I was pleased to see that during the past year I've learned more about bonsai, and was better able to analyze the trees on display. I was also better prepared to photograph the trees, as I brought along a monopod which I used for the first time (very ...

Jaxon Rice owns a small web design firm in Johannesburg, South Africa and happens to be very active in the Community Server world when it comes to ''skinning.'' He also seems to be a real nice guy, and has been extremely helpful in resolving some problems I've had with trying to get CS2.0 working properly on this site. He's in the process of a 50 ...

I've been diligently working to get the site back in shape. There are now separate albums in the Photo Gallery for each tree or group of trees, as well as for Special Events. Everything that was here before has been brought back.... now I just have to update everything with new pictures and so forth.Speaking of Special Events, tomorrow morning I ...

My most humble apologies for being away so long! I've used the last few months to learn more about ASP.NET 2.0, and trying to find an acceptable blogging solution within that technology. I auditioned a number of technologies, and found that Community Server 2.0 was my best shot - even though it does not yet fully integrate into the ASP.NET 2.0 ...

This web site has recently been hacked... Nothing serious, but we got comments on this page from people selling things that certainly do not have my endorsement!
One of my Christmas presents this year was a bonsai bench... a number of bricklike stones that support two pieces of pressure-treated lumber. It's certainly not a fancy bench, but it's a ...

I'm thrilled to announce that the Blog is officially LIVE!
Ashley Carrier's first article on Bonsai Tool Care is here. Thanks, Ashley, for contributing!
Last night was our Bonsai Club meeting, and a fellow named Mil Balfrey gave us a presentation on Sea Grape (Coccoloba uvifera) and Pigeon Plum (Coccoloba diversifolia) as bonsai. He brought in a ...
