I got this Mugo from a nursery late Fall '07 when it was a dense ball of needles. The portion where there is now a jin used to be the main trunk (followed by the pompom of needles).
The features that attracted me to this plant was the contorted shape of the main branch and a pleasant taper.

My first real tree post here, so thought I'd document from untouched tree to the beginning of its life as a bonsai.

I bought this little tree in March this year at a nursery up in the Dandenong Ranges. I'd been to one of the two bonsai nurseries down the road with cash in pocket just needing to be spent and after finding them closed for the day the need for a new tree was still there.
