Cape Honeysuckle

(Tecomaria capensis)

Bonsai Buddy gave me this tree after seeing me drool over a semi-cascade Cape Honeysuckle in a book. He tied one branch down to create the beginning of the cascade. I trimmed it a little at our Tree Butchering Party on July 4th, 2005 and again on July 31st, 2005.

This little guy seems to be very healthy, and growing well. On August 26, 2005, I decided to do some more trimming. Here's the before photo:

The cascading branch seems to be convinced that it should stay there, so I've removed the string which was helping. Here's what it looked like after the trim:
